Established in June 2019 it’s an amendment to the securities exchange act of 1934. It essentially ensures that all broker dealers, finance advisors act in the best interest of the client when recommending securities, accounts etc.

A CRS is a recent addition to the Reg BI. As of June 2020 all broker dealers and finance advisors must clients with a CRS.
