Hippocrates
Hippocrates of Cos (460-379 B.C.) was the most famous Greek physician of ancient times. He stressed observation and conservative treatment. Called the “Father of Medicine,” he used dietetics before resorting to drugs or surgery.
Holistic Medicine
a general term to designate the belief that the traditional view of medicine must be expanded. All aspects of the individual - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and environmental - contribute to states of health and diseases. In other others, the entire person must be considered when making therapeutic decisions. The prevention of disease, rather than simply the relief of symptoms, is emphasized.
