How should a member test if there’s reason to believe they’re radio is defective
Test radio with OUC on talkgroup 02 MAIN or with the Fire Liason officer on 0C16 ADM3. Units should also ask the operator to confirm their radio alias.
What should be done if there’s a need to report a damaged or malfunctioning alerting/alarm equipment
During business hours (0800-1600; Monday through Friday) telephone the OUC Radio shop and report the problem. Record the technicians name and time of call in the company journal.
Contact the BFC and describe the problem
If the malfunction occurs other than business hours, make request for repair to the watch commander, and ask for the Fire/EMS Watch Commander
The procedure for lost or stolen communications equipment
As soon as one discovers that equipment has been lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair, notification shall be made to the Watch Commander.
Units needing to contact other units directly should do what
Request a alternate talkgroup via 02 Main, and be assigned to one of the ADMIN talkgroups in the 0C zone. Unit should be guided by OUC
