• Presenting concern
• Breed, age and normal condition
• How long has this been going on for? Has the animal - had this issue before?
• Dependent on the issue: gum colour, respiratory effort, demeanour, gait, lethargy and urination status
• Is the animal on any medication?
• Access to toxins
• Is the animal up to date with its flea and tick prevention?
• Is there any vomiting or diarrhoea?
• Is there any abdominal distension, or change in conformation?
• Are there any wounds or bleeding?
