What are pathogens?
Microorganisms that can cause infectious diseases. They can infect plants or animals, spreading through either direct contact, by water or air.
What are symptons of measels, how is it spread and how is it prevented?
symptoms: fever and skin rash
spread: droplet infection
prevented: vaccinations for young children
What are the symptoms of HIV, how is it spread and how is it prevented?
symptoms: flu-like initially, later AIDS
spread: sexual contact or exchange of bodily fluids
prevented: condoms, not sharing needles etc.
What are the symptoms of Tobacco mosaic virus, how is it spread and how is it prevented?
symptoms: discolouration of leaves,
spread: contact between diseased plant to healthy plant
prevented: field hygiene
What are the symptoms of salmonella, how is it spread and how is it prevented?
symptoms: fever, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea
spread: raw meat and eggs, unhygienic conditions
prevented: cooking throughly, vaccinating animals etc.
What are the symptoms of Gonorrhea, how is it spread and how is it prevented?
symptoms: thick yellow or green discharge, painful urination
spread: sexual contact
prevented: contraception

symptoms: purple or black spots on leaves
spread: spores of the fungus spread in rain or wind
prevented: using fungicides or stripping affected leaves

symptoms: fevers and shaking
spread: the vector is a female mosquito. Mosquito insert protists into the human bloodstream when feeding on them
