What audio is recorded by the cockpit voice recorder?
Any audio transmitted or received by the FLT deck as selected on the ACP as well as FLT deck area conversations.
What is the association between Radio Tuning Panels and radios?
Panels designated L, C, R and are normally associated W/ the respective VHF & HF radio (however each radio tuning panel can be used to tune any of the VHF & HF radios).
Which VHF system cannot be used for data transmission?
L VHF (configured for voice communication only).
When will DATA be displayed on the RTP active frequency window?
Provided the selected VHF radio is the default DATA radio (selected on the MFD COMM display), when a new FREQ is selected in the STBY window.
For a stuck microphone, when will a VHF radio be inhibited?
On GND W/ both engines off having transmitted for > 35s.
What is the indication for an inhibited VHF radio?
Dashes in the tuning panel FREQ window for that particular radio.
Where can HF sensitivity for HF 2 be set?
On the on-‐side tuning panel (right radio tuning panel).
When does the HF antenna tune?
When an HF transmitter is keyed after a FREQ change.
How many HF antennae are installed?
1 (common to both HF radios).
How are normal crew alerts indicated?
Visual alerts (EICAS message) and aural alerts (aural alerts for high & medium crew alert categories only).
Which radio systems are monitored by SELCAL?
VHF & HF radios.
What does the SATCOM CALL light indicate?
An incoming SATCOM call.
