Make an indentation in surface to where holes are to be drilled in metal

Fast removal of soft materials can be used on both 2d and 3d surfaces like a cheese grater

Remove waste from the surface of materials
Twist drill
Twist waste away from the hole

Used to drill wood all the way through and will break through splintering wood on the underside
Countersink
Creates a depression for the head of the screw so that it sits flush with surface of a material

Used to make large holes up to 150mm in diameter
