family history red flags (cardiac syncope)
known heart condition/previous surgery
fh of sudden death including in infancy
events that happen on exercise
vagal symptoms when sitting/lying
events that happen at night
headache red flags
rapidly expanding headsize in infants
effortless vomiting in the morning preschool
waking at night/early morning headache
worse on coughing/sneezing/straining/bending over
changer in behaviour, sleepy
change in cognitive ability/handwriting/balance difficulties
new squint or cranial nerve palsies
diplopia/visual change
heart murmur red flags
other dysmorphic signs
blue? check sats
symptoms and signs of failure - poor feeding, failure to thrive, colour changes
examination - absent/low volume femoral pulses, low ox sats, liver edge, gallop rhythm, crepitations, oedema
in children: fatigue, breathlessness and any of the above^^^
cough red flags
night time waking w/ cough, wheeze, SOB or obstructive symptoms, failure to thrive, other recurrent infections
abdo pain red flags
failure to thrive
bilious or bloody vomiting
bloody stools or symptoms of IBD
constipation red flags
symptoms present from birth
abnormal lower limb neurology
diarrhoea red flags
weight loss
blood in stools
stooling at night
other systemic symptoms fatigue, rashes, mouth ulcers, joints, eyes
growth red flags
other systemic illness in FTT
children who are short and obese (most obese children are tall)
signs of puberty <8yo girl <9 yo boy
or later than 14boy 13girl (no menarche at 15)
