You move it back and forth above the flame so it doesn’t heat too fast.

You heat it gently because you do not want it to boil over.

How do you hold the thermometer in a beaker and why?
You hold it in the middle of the liquid because if you put it on the side of the beaker it will get the temperature of the glass and not the liquid and also there’s a chance that it could fall over.
How do you draw the odor to your nose?
You would do wafting.
How do you measure the volume of liquids
You measure it in Liters.
What two things can you use with a bulb
You can use a graduated cylinder or a pipette.
What’s something you CAN’T use with a bulb?
You can’t use a beaker.
What is a meniscus and how do you read with a meniscus?
A meniscus is a curve on the surface of a molecular substance when it touches another material and you read from the bottom of the meniscus.
How do you read it at?
You read it at eye level.

Lip to lip

A stirring rod.

How do you find mass and what measure does it use?
You find mass with a balance and it measures with grams.
