Common Features Flashcards
Three most common features in a device.
- Processor.
- Internal memory.
- Flash memory.
Processor
Found in all digital devices, it controls all functions of the devices. Specialist microprocessors are found in different devices.
Internal memory
Data and program instructions are stored here by the processor. Different devices have different amounts of internal memory which is measured in bytes.
Flash memory
Is a peripheral, ideal for portable devices since:
• It doesn’t lose data when turned off.
• No moving parts (solid state).
• Easily removable to transfer data between devices.
