Congestive heart failure
A chronic condition in which the heart doesn’t pump blood as well as it should
Heart attack
Also called: myocardial infarction (MI)
A blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle.
Ischemia
condition in which the blood flow (and thus oxygen) is restricted or reduced in a part of the body
Hypertension
High blood pressure
A condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high.
Hypotension
Low blood pressure
The brain doesn’t receive enough blood.
Cardiac Tamponade
Compression of the heart caused by fluid collecting in the sac surrounding the heart
DVT - Deep vein thrombosis
A blood clot in a deep vein, usually in the legs.
CVA - Cerebrovascular accident

A stroke is when blood flow to a part of your brain is stopped either by a blockage or the rupture of a blood vessel
MS - Sclerosis
A disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of nerves.
Syncope
Fainting, or a sudden temporary loss of consciousness.
Aneurysm
A ballooning and weakened area in an artery.

Over time, fats, cholesterols and other substances also collect on the inner walls of the heart arteries. This buildup is called plaque.
Cyanosis
Bluish or grayish color of the skin, nails, lips, or around the eyes resulting from poor circulation or inadequate oxygenation of the blood.
