Action Plan
Ex: The action plan needs to be reviewed.
It’s a detailed plan that specifies what needs to be done.
Agenda
Ex: Today’s agenda includes a workflow discussion.
A list of topics or issues to be discussed in a meeting.
ASAP
Ex: I need thos numbers from accounting asap.
Short for as soon as possible
On the same page
Ex: Let’s meet to make sure we are on the same page.
To be in agreement or to hold the same views about something with others.
Touch base
Ex: Let’s touch base this afternoon.
When someone wants to discuss something with you
Backburner
Ex: Let’s put that on the backburner until we can hire more staff.
To set aside tasks or projects for a while
Balls in the air
Ex: With Mary’s clients and my own, I have too many balls in the air.
You have multiple tasks or responsibilities to handle at the same time
Too much on my plate
Ex: There is too much on my plate today for another meeting.
When you feel overwhelmed or have too many tasks or responsibilities
Bandwidth
Ex: I don’t have the bandwidth to take on another project.
A person’s capacity or availability to take on additional tasks or projects
Deliverables
Ex: What are our deliverables this month?
The tangible results or outputs that are expected from a project or task
Game Changer
Ex: AI has been a real game changer in the business world.
Something that has the potential to impact or transform a situation significantly
Good to go
Ex: We are good to go with the proposal.
Something that is ready
Like herding cats
Ex: It’s like herding cats with the new interns.
Trying to manage people or tasks that are difficult to manage
Run up the flagpole
Ex: I’m not sure that is possible. I need to run it up the flagpole.
Presenting an idea, proposal, or plan to gather feedback
Throw under the bus
Ex: I’m upset that you threw me under the bus in the meeting today.
To unfairly blame or sacrifice someone for your own benefit or to avoid responsibility
