Common Basic Questions Flashcards
Why do you want to work for this company ?
Tell me about yourself ?
So (insert name) I’m from bradford and i studied biomedical science at the university of Bradford_ I chose to study biomed because I wasn’t really sure what career path I wanted to follow when completing my A levels so I thought you know what I’ll study something that I enjoy.
An interesting fact about me is alongside my uni commitments which was during the Covid 19 pandemic I chose to open a fast food business partnering with my cousin. Although the pandemic and the lockdowns had been tough I wanted to grasp that opportunity. It was eye opening experience and to be honest with you I really really enjoyed that role. It’s great because it gave me an opportunity to lead and manage others whilst I could develop my communication skills because I engaged with a customer base who were from a wide range of backgrounds.
Presently I am a laboratory analyst testing allergen. I joined as a junior analyst and quite quickly I’d say got promoted to a senior member of staff. A position where I was able to develop my data focused analytical skills heavily. Overall, this is testament to the type of person I am always looking on how to learn and develop myself and progress through the company.
This is carried through to my interest and hobbies where I’m captain of my Sunday league team and team which I’ve been a part of for almost 7 years.
If I was to look to the future in 5 years, I envision myself as a qualified Chartered accountant who’s passed the ACA exams first time round. Looking at how I can make my mark further through progression within the company.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years
2 years post chartered accountant if I’ve passed first time in the ACA exams . As the more senior and experienced members of staff I’d be looking at leading and taking control of the larger and more complex projects as well as bigger teams.
Id expect to have an influence on the incoming graduates sharing my experiences going through the system.
However understanding that my own learning will not stop trying to see what new approaches are available or new technologies that are influencing the industry.
After 5 years I believe it would be reasonable to be looking at an assistant manager or manager post within the company however still taking advice and guidance from partners or senior members of staff.
