What do you look for in an oral-facial exam?
A
- abnormal color of tongue, palate or pharynx
- abnormal height and width of palatal arch
- asymmetry of face/palate
- deviation of tongue or uvula to left or right
- enlarged tonsils
- missing teeth
- mouth breathing
- poor pressure
- prominent rugae
- short lingual frenulum
- weak or absent gag reflex
- weakness of lips, tongue or jaw
- spots possibly cancerous
