What is a common fraction?
Common fractions are fractions where both the numerator and denominator are whole numbers written as a/b.
What are decimal fractions?
Decimal fractions can have a whole number as well as a fractional part, separated by a comma. The whole number is always on the left of the comma and the fractional part is always on the right of the comma.

What’s a mixed number?
A mixed number is number consisting of a whole number and a fraction.
Example: 9 3/4
What are equivalent fractions?
Fractions with the same value.
Give an equivalent fraction of 5/10.
½; 2/4; 4/8; 6/12; 7/14; 8/16; 9/18; 10/20…etc.
Give an equivalent fraction for 9/24.
3/8; 6/16; 18/48…etc.
Give an equivalent fraction for 3/4.
6/8; 12/16; 75/100…etc.
What is the lowest common denominator?
The lowest common denominator is the lowest common multiple of two denominators. You must find the lowest equivalent fraction that apply to both fractions.
Example: The lowest common denominator of 45/75 and 6/10 is 3/5.
