Q

Frypan has 3/4 of Oreo mug cake left. He wants to give Ella and Newt each an equal piece of what’s left for their date.
How much will they each get?

A

3/4 ÷ 2 = 3/8

Newt and Ella each get 3/8 Oreo mug cake.

23
Q

What do you have to do when multiplying two fractions?

A

You multiply the numerators together and the denominators together.
-If it’s a mixed number write it as an improper fraction before multiplying.

(Yes!!! Literally the only simple thing we have to do in maths! I nearly had a breakdown trying to remember how to do this; whether you had to convert to decimals or what, by no! Yay!!! It’s so simple!)

24
Q

Peeta only has enough flour to make 3/4 of his dough recipe for orange bagels-but not orange like Effie’s hair, more like the sunset. His dough recipe makes 15 and 1/2 bagels using 3/4 measurements. If Peeta for some reason felt like multiplying these two numbers together, what answer would he get?

A

3/4 x 31/2 = 93/8
