Praziquantel
Treats TINEA SOLIUM infections
Tinea solium- intestinal tape worm infection from contaminated pork, common in LATIN AMERICA
Vasovagal syncope
Vagus nerve stimulation—> causes bradycardia and vasodilation
Stimulated by: visceral organ stimulation (peeing, pooping, coughing), carotid bodies, psychogenic
Dx: Tilt table test, usually clinical dx, + prodrome
Tx: BETA BLOCKERS
Orthostatic syncope
Orthostatic—> dizzy when standing
Dx: orthostatics
Tx: FLUIDS, if doesnt resolve with IVF—> ANS dysfunction (DDM, Parkinsons, old age)
Mechanical heart and arrhythmoa dx syncope
Exertion—> pass out, Dx: echo, tx: lesional dept
Arehythmia—> sudden, no prodrome, Dx 24 hour Holter or event recorder
Tx: arrhythmia specific
Neurogenic syncope
Problem with posterior circulation—> sudden, no prodrome, + focal neuro deficit
Dx: carotid u/s, CT ANGIOGRAM
tx: treat the vascular dx
Who does not get a statin?
LDL < 70 AND NO CAD
LDL 70-189 statin req
STATIN If 40-75 with DM
LDL 70-189 with risk factors (smoking, CAD, HTN, obesity, age >45M or > 55f with family history

Case control study
Identify the outcomes first and then go back in history to identify the exposure

TX: metronidazole
Central nervous stystem toxoplasmosis
Circular lesion of decreased density on CT in HIV pts
Tx: pyramethamine sulfadiazine
Hypertensive urgency
Severe asymptomatic hypertension WITHOUT signs of end organ damage
Blue dot sign
Sign of appendix testis torsion
Tx: rest and NSAIDS
