Which variety of Comfrey is the best one to use and why?
Bocking, it’s less invasive.
What could you do with wilted comfrey leaves?
Place around the plant as mulch or use as a liner in potato and tomato trenches.
Why shouldn’t you add a large amount of comfrey leaves to compost heaps?
They go slimy.
How do you make a comfrey “brew”?
Pack leaves into a dustbin half way up.
Squash with a board on top, weigh it down and put the lid on.
Drill a hole in the bottom and place a jar underneath to catch the drips.
What must you do with comfrey liquid before applying to plants?
Dilute it, 10-20 times with water.
What is a quicker method for making comfrey tea?
infuse 3Kg of leaves with 45L of water and leave to stand for a month.
You can add this tea undiluted to containers or plants for a pick-me-up.
