Colours Of Light Flashcards
What does a prism do?
A prism refracts different colours of light by different amounts.
What happens with the light after it hits the prism?
The prism disperses light into a continuous spectrum of colours.
What are the primary colours in science
In science the primary colours are blue red and green
What are secondary colours?
Secondary colours are produced when any two primary colours are mixed.
What are the secondary colours?
In science the secondary colours are yellow cyan and magenta
When all the primary and secondary colours are mixed together what does it make?
They all make white.
What do filters do?
Filters subtract colours from white light, so that only one colour of light is transmitted
Why are objects different colours?
It basically works like a filter, an orange object adsorbs all other colours except for orange, that orange light then reflects into your eye making it appear orange.
Why are objects black and white?
Black objects adsorb all colours leaving no light left and white objects reflect all colours.
