Primary Colours?
- Red
- Yellow
- Blue
Why are they primary colours?
- They cannot be made from other colours
- You only need one colour to make them
Secondary colours?
- Orange
- Green
- Purple
What are tertiary colours?
Made up of both secondary and primary colours
What are the complementary colours?
Colours that have no relationship;
This can be identified by using this:
- The colour doesn’t make or isn’t made up of the colour
- They also often make white and black being unique in nature to each other
Blue and yellow make
Green
Yellow and red make
Orange
Red and blue make
Purple
Yellow is complementary to
Purple
Blue is complementary to
Orange

and yellow orange to the left.
Then say positions going anti-clock wise.
- Yellow (orange and yellow)
- Green (blue and yellow)

What is a monochromatic colour?
A colour scheme comprised of variations of one colour.
