Blue, blue steel or dark grey blue, with rich tan (not sandy) on face, ears, under body, lower legs and feet and around the vent (puppies excepted). The richer the colour and more clearly defined the better. Smuttiness is objectionable. Topknot blue, silver or lighter shade than head colour.

The colour is black, dark brown or greyish black, with fawn (yellow-red) clearly defined markings at the eyebrows, muzzle, chest, the legs and at the base of tail. Light and dark mask is equally permitted: small white markings on chest and toes are tolerated.

Jet black and rich mahogany tan distributed as follows: on head, muzzle tanned to nose, nose and nasal bone jet black. Small tan spot on each cheek and above each eye, under-jaw and throat tanned with distinct tan V. Legs from knee downward tanned with the exception of toes which shall be pencilled with black, a distinct black mark (thumbmark) immediately above feet. Inside hind legs tanned but divided with black at stifle joint. Under tail tanned, vent tanned by marking as narrow as possible so that it is covered by tail. A slight tan mark on each side of chest.

Predominately white coat with black, tan, blue or liver markings of any shade. Tri colouring is common (ie, white with black or white with blue or white with liver markings and tan cheeks and/or tan above eyes and/or tan breaching).
Brindle markings acceptable but not preferred. Full colour coats are not acceptable. Skin should always be pigmented.
