Plan for using a color or a combination of colors to decorate a room or put together an outfit.
Color scheme
Colors that are directly opposite each other on the color wheel
Complementary colors
Precise way to describe colors using the specific names that identify them, such as red, blue or green.
Hues
Brightness ore fullness of the color
Intensity
Combination of a primary color with a neighboring secondary color on the color wheel
Intermediate color
Substances that are in items and that absorb some light rays and reflect others, Causing the item to be seen in varying colors.
Pigments
The three basic colors from which all other colors are made: red, yellow, and blue
Primary color
Combination of equal amounts of two primary colors on the color wheel
Secondary color
Darker color that results when black is added to a color
Shade
Lighter color that results when why is added to a color
Tint
The degree of lightness or darkness of a color which was created by the amount of white or black added
Values
Color scheme that uses to buy more colors that are next to each other on the color wheel
Analogous
Mono means one and chromatic refers to color this color scheme uses the volume and intensity of just one color
Monochromatic
One color used with the two colors on either side of its direct complement
Split complementary
Three colors that are equally distant from each other on the color wheel
Triadic color scheme
