How is color determined?
Color is determined by the degree to which a surface reflects light and produces rays of different lengths. White contains all the colors, black is the absence of color, no visible light is reflected.
How is color created?
Color is created by varying wavelengths of light. Reds have longest wavelength, violets have the shortest.
