VOC was a company whose main purpose was trade, exploration, and colonization throughout the 17th and 18th centuries.

Free Burghers were free citizens and farmers of the Cape and did not work for VOC

They poisoned the water holes and fought battled wars against the Dutch

Why did the Trekboers have so many children?
Children died of diseases often, so they had more children incase some died to help them on the farms
