What is Mercantilism?
Mercantilism was a form of economic nationalism that sought to increase the prosperity and power of a nation through restrictive trade practices. (It happened between the mother country and the colonies!)
What were the representative governments during the colonization era?
They were the Virginia House of Burgesses, Magna Carta, the Mayflower Compact, the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, Town Meetings, and the English Bill of Rights.
What was the Transatlantic Slave Trade?
The transatlantic slave trade was the forced, large-scale movement of enslaved Africans across the Atlantic Ocean to the 13 colonies, primarily for labor in plantations, lasting from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
