The process required for acceptance into the college
Admissions
Programs that help students with the transition to college, study skills, math skills, writing skills, and tutoring services
Academic Support
A professor who is usually part-time or not on campus with a long-term contract
Adjunct Professor
Calendar that lists the dates for start of classes, vacations, finals, and end of classes.
Academic Calendar
Academic counselors, staff members, or faculty members who are responsible for helping students plan their academic program (similar to high school guidance counselor)
Advisor
University Store, Campus Store - sells books for classes, university merchandise, dorm accessories, and convenience store items.
Bookstore
Contains items such as degree programs, academic policies, course descriptions, financial policies, general education requirements, minors, and concentrations.
Academic Catalog
Graduates with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher graduate with this.
Cum Laude (Magna and Summa)
A status you are placed on when your grades fall below a certain level. You will need to raise your grades or you may face the possibility of being removed for academic reasons.
Academic Probation
A graduate from a school, college, or a university.
Alumni
The office on campus that generates tuition invoices, applies payments to student accounts, makes meal plan changes, adds flex dollars to accounts, applies scholarships, and generates refund checks, accept student loans and grant money via electronic file transfers.
Bursar/Student Account
Provides day care and preschool services for children of students, faculty, staff, and community children eligible for child center services.
Campus Child Care Services
Someone who is traditionally in charge of a major area of a ollege
Dean
Alfred and shortened class time due to weather related issues.
Compressed Schedule
Academic honor for students who receive a 3.5 or higher in a semester
