An economic system used by the U.S. in which people get to choose what their money goes toward.
What is Communism?
An economic system used by the Soviet Union in which the government controls all of the resources and decides how to distribute them.
What were the Containment Policies?
A policy in which it contained communism from spreading to Western Europe.
What was the Truman Doctrine?
A containment policy that kept Greece and Turkey from becoming communist.
What was the Marshall Plan?
A containment policy that helped the economies of Europe repair by lending them money.
What was McCarthyism?
Senator Joseph McCarthy had a list of people he said were communist and were feared by Americans.
What is NATO?
The western military allies treaty that said they would all be allies in a WWIII.
What is the WARSAW Pact?
The communist military allies treaty. (Triggered by NATO)

A group of 51 countries that were made to stop wars.
What was the Iron Curtain?
A figurative wall that was made to separate the four power administration.
What was the Berlin Blockade?
The Soviet Union’s attempt to drive the western forces out of Berlin by blocking the German entrances so no supplies could be brought.
What was the Korean War?
The war between communist North Korea and capitalist South Korea after NK passed the 38th parallel.
What was the Bay of Pigs?
The failed invasion of Cuba by the CIA.
