Soviet Union placed missiles in Cuba and pointed them at the U.S.
How did the Cuban Missile Crisis end?
Peaceful agreement to remove all nuclear missiles from Cuba and Turkey.
What was the Korean War?
Civil War in which North Korea invaded South Korea.
What was the outcome of the Korean War?
After 3 years and no progress a truce was called. Korea is still divided to this day.

Germany
What was unique about this division?
Berlin was controlled by the Soviet Union.
What was the Berlin airlift?
The U.S and its allies used phones to drop food and supplies to the starving people of West Berlin who were trapped by the Soviets.

What caused the arms race between the U.S and USSR?
Each country wanted a strong military presence on a global scale.
