Truman Doctrine
The Truman Doctrine/containment was President Harry Truman’s foreign policy that the US would provide political, military, and economic aid to democratic countries under the threat of communist influences in order to prevent the expansion of communism
Truman Doctrine failures and successes
Its success was reoriented the u.s foreign policy away from its usual stance and its failures was the United States could no longer allow the forcible expansion of Soviet totalitarianism because American national security now depended on more than just the physical security of American territory

The Marshall Plan provided markets for American goods, created reliable trading partners, and supported the development of stable democratic governments in Western Europe and it was billions of dollars in aid given to 16 nations after WWII
