10
Q

flaw of cold-cured acrylic?

A

monomer leaches out over time - irritant

porosity
- due to air dissolved in the monomer which is not soluble in the polymer at room temp

need excess material in the mould

not as strong as heat cured

less conversion of monomer to polymer

more initial deformation and creep

slower recovery seen

poor long-term colour stability - due to tertiary amine
