  • predisposing factors: aspects which address the “why me” question. core beliefs are noted.
  • precipitants: information is solicited about what was happening just before symptoms developed
  • triggers: factors which activate symptoms on a regular basis.
  • symptoms: psychical symptoms, thoughts, feelings, and behavior
  • maintenance cycle: how all the info fits together. once the maintenance cycles have been ascertained, ways of breaking them can be considered.
