Gliadin from gluten

What are antibodies are often tested for in coeliac patients?
A
Anti- TTG, a result of inflammation caused by T-cells. Is a IgA antibody.
Anti-gliadin antbodies are not very accuarate, can now use anti DPG now

What malabsorption can occur as a result of coeliacs?
A
Due to loss of brush border enzymes-
Diarrhoea (carbs malabs. (osmotic), fat and lactose)
B12 deficiency, iron most common
