Symptoms of coeliac disease
Diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloating, indigestion, constipation, flatus, weight loss, tiredness, anaemia, rash, peripheral neuropathy, oedema, ataxia, can result in malnutrition leading to failure to grow or delayed puberty in children
What is coeliac disease
Autoimmune disease attacking and damaging your small intestine when you consume gluten
Non-coeliac gluten intolerance
Caused by an adverse reaction to gluten
What foods contain gluten?
Anything that contains barley, wheat and rye
Pasta, cake, cereal, most types of bread, sauces, ready meals, most beers, oats which contain avenin
