Code Drugs Flashcards
Amiodarone
Prolongs PR and QT interval, alpha and beta adrenergic blocker
SVT/VT with pulses: 5mg/kg LOAD over 20-60 min (max 300mg); daily dose of 15 mg/kg (2.2g in adolescents)
VF/Pulseless VT: 5 mg/kg rapid bolus (same parameters as pulses)
Atropine
Anticholinergic
Tx symptomatic bradycardia cased by vagaries stimulation
0.02mg/kg (minimum dose 0.1mg, max 0.5mg)
Repeated doe ones (max total dose 1mg child; 3mg adolescent)
Can be used in larger doses to t organophosphate poisoning
Onset: 2-4 min
Peak: 2-4 min
Dextrose
D50W: 1-2 mL/kg
D25W: 2-4 mL/kg (max concentration for bolus)
D10W: 5 to 10 mL/kg
(Max concentration for bolus in newborns D12.5W - 0.125 g/mL)
Doubtamine
Congestive HF
Cariogenic Shock
(dangerous In septic shock or shock states with vasodilation
Beta1 adrenergic agent - inotrope
2-20 mcg/kg per minute
Dopamine
Inotrope, vasopressor, decreases SVR
Cardiogenic Shock
Distributive Shock
Diluted in D5W
2-20mcg/kg/min
Adenosine
For: SVT
Blocks conduction through AV node, decreases automaticity of sinus node
First dose: 0.1mg/kg RAPID push (max dose 6 mg)
Second Dose: 0.2 mg/kg RAPID push (max dose 12 mg)
