The Negroni
Can be served on the rocks or up in a cocktail glass.
1 oz. gin 1 oz. Campari 1 oz. sweet vermouth Garnish: Orange twist Glass: cocktail or double rocks
Stir ingredients, strain into cocktail glass or ice filled rocks glass.
The Boulevadier
Cousin of the Negroni, but subs gin for bourbon.
1 1/2 oz. bourbon 1 oz. Campari 1 oz. sweet vermouth Garnish: Orange slice, lemon twist or cherry Glass: cocktail
Stir long and well with ice in a mixing glass and strain into cocktail glass.
Old Fashioned
2 oz. bourbon or rye whiskey
2 dashes bitters, Orange bitters
1/4 oz. simple syrup or sugar cube
Peel Orange, express, rim and garnish.
Add sugar/syrup and bitters. Then add ice and bourbon.
Manhattan
2 oz. bourbon 1 oz. sweet vermouth 2 dashes bitters Garnish: cherry *if they want cherry juice
Stir ingredients, strain into chilled cocktail glass and drop cherry.
Sazerac
Can be served in cocktail or on the rocks
2 oz. rye whiskey 1/2 oz. simple syrup 2 dashes bitters Absinthe or herbsaint Garnish: lemon twist
Give glass an absinthe or herbsaint rinse and set aside. Stir ingredients, strain into the chilled glass and garnish.
Hemingway Daquiri
1 1/2 oz. white rum 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice 1/4 oz. fresh grapefruit juice 1/4 oz. maraschino liqueur Garnish: lime wedge
Shake ingredients, strain into a chilled glass and garnish.
What is important about cocktails?
- Put proper ingredients into shaker w ice and either shake or stir, then strain into chilled glass.
- Some can be made on the rocks.
- Chill cocktail glasses while making drinks.
- Don’t forget to garnish
Corpse Recover/Reviver #2
1 oz. gin 1 oz. Cointreau 1 oz. Lillet Blanc 1 oz. fresh lemon juice 1 dash absinthe Garnish: Orange peel
Shake all ingredients, strain into chilled glass and garnish.
Tom Collins
Collins glass
2 oz. gin 1 oz. fresh lemon juice 1 tsp. simple syrup Soda water Garnish: lemon slice and cherry
Combine ingredients in ice-filled glass and stir. Top with soda water and garnish.
Zombie
Loads: Collins
1/2 oz. 151 1 oz. pineapple 1 oz. Orange 1 oz. Passion fruit 1 tsp. sugar 2 oz. light rum 1 oz. dark rum 1 oz. lime juice
Blend all with ice except for 151. Pour into glass, float 151 on top. Garnish w fruit slice, sprig of mint, and cherry.
Martini
Ask if they want it dry or not
1/2 oz. dry vermouth
2 1/2 oz. gin
*bitters are optional
Garnish: lemon twist or olives
Stir ingredients, strain into chilled cocktail glass. Add bitters if desired. Garnish, and if with lemon twist: squeeze it over the drink and line the rim if possible.
Variations:
Perfect martini: equal parts sweet and dry vermouth
Dirty martini: add small amount of olive juice
Vodka martini: replace gin with vodka
French 75
Glass: Flute
1 oz. gin 1 oz. simple syrup 3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice 3 oz. champagne or sparkling wine Garnish: lemon twist
Shake everything but champagne. Strain into chilled glass. Top with champagne and garnish.
Dark N Stormy
Fun fact: national drink of Bermuda
Glass: lowball on the rocks
2 oz. dark rum
4 oz. Ginger beer
Garnish: lime
Combine ingredients, add ice and stir. Garnish.
Moscow Mule
Glass: Highball
2 oz. vodka
1 oz. fresh lime juice
4 oz. Ginger beer
Garnish: lime wedge
Pour vodka and lime juice into ice-filled glass. Add ginger beer, stir and garnish.
Pimms Cup
Glass: highball
2 oz. Pimm’s No. 1
1/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
Ginger beer
Garnish: cucumber
Pour Pimm’s and lemon juice into an ice-filled glass. Top with Ginger beer, stir and garnish.
What is important about cocktails mixed with beer?
Mix liquor first with ice, add beer and STIR!!!
Cosmopolitan
Vodka Lime juice Triple sec Splash of cranberry Splash of sprite for liveliness Squeeze fresh limes into mix if possible Garnish: lime
Shake ingredients except for sprite. Add splash of sprite and Shake once. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish.
Side Car
2 oz. cognac
1 oz. Cointreau
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
Garnish: sugared rim (optional)
Shake ingredients and strain into chilled glass.
