How long does initial reinstatement take?

A
  • Usually takes 5-10 days from the time VitaCOBRA receives payment and election form
  • We don’t receive notice from the insurance company that it has been reinstated

A

Up to 36 months of medical coverage from date federal COBRA began for med plans in CA
- Premium can be up to 110% of full plan cost

A

Can be made via check, money order, bill pay or e-payment

A

Direct debit from bank account

  • First payment takes 1-3 business days after the e-payment and election forms are processed
  • Afterward, payments will be debited around the first of the month

After election form is processed, you will receive a payment book with mailing labels for your convenience to help keep track of payments

A

Due on the first day of the month

- 30 day grace period from the first of the month (not 31 days)

No, but if you provide your email address, if payment hasn’t been received, you will receive a courtesy email around the 20th of the month

A

A

An event that causes a loss of coverage of group health plan benefits such as:

  • End of employment
  • Reduction of work hours
  • Dependent child no longer eligible
  • Death of EE
  • Divorce or legal separation
  • Medicare entitlement
  • ER starts bankruptcy proceedings

  • Can be reimbursed for expenses prior to term only
