What are the two types of waves?
Constructive and Destructive
How are waves formed? What determines the wave?
Waves are formed by wind blowing over the sea, The FETCH determines the size of the wave
What is FETCH?
The strength of the wind, how long it has been blowing for and the length of area that the wind has been blowing over.
Which wave builds up a beach?
Constructive
Destructive waves do what to a beach?
Erode it.
What are the characteristics of a constructive wave?
Stronger swash, Weaker backwash, low energy levels, not very tall and smaller waves.
What are the characteristics of a destructive wave?
Taller,Stronger backwash, Weaker swash, High energy and remove materials from beaches.
If a beach is narrow and steep, what wave is mainly experienced there?
Destructive Waves
If constructive waves constantly hit the same beach, What will the beach look like?
Wide and flat
