Definition of the coast
The coast, also known as the coastline, shoreline or seashore, is defined as the area where land meets the ocean, or as a line that forms the boundary between the land and the coastline.
Difference between beach and coast
Coast: Coast is the place where land meets the sea.
Beach: Beach is the land area along the shoreline of an ocean or a sea.

types of beach and coast
Coast: There are two types of coast as sheltered coast and pelagic coast.
Beach: There are several types of beaches such as wild beach, volcanic beach, and coral beach.
Which structures/measures are suitable against coastal erosion and simultaneously support the preservation or elevation of the shore?
-Coast parallel breakwaters
-Groynes
-Beach nourishments
processes taking place at luv and lee side of groynes
luv: accretion
lee: erosion
how can the transport rate and direction be calculated?
by the result of the vectorial sum of longshore and cross-shore transport
