One dose (50Mg otc-100mg) for one attack, can take second dose at least 2 hrs after if ANOTHER migraine attack occurs.

Reduce dose because of risk of overdose due to loss of tolerance

First do assessment to see if they use illicit drugs before restarting methadone again

Oxycodone immediate release. Modified release can accumulate in renal impairment

Either have ibuprofen 400mg as one off, aspirin 900mg or sumatriptan 50Mg only if diagnosed with migraine

Work by vasoconstriction which helps reduce blood flow in brain so helps relieve headache. As a result can raise pressure so C/I in UNCONTROLLED HYPERTENSION and ISCHAEMIC HEART DISEASE
What’s a side Effect of sumatriptan
Tingling sensation due to vasoconstriction meaning less blood getting to hand and stuff
Age limit for otc sumatriptan
18-65 yrs
Safest painkiller to use in liver cirrhosis/ alcoholic disease
Paracetamol is the safest painkiller in liver disease. NSAIDs increase bleeding risk/ fluid retention in liver cirrhosis. Opioids cause constipation/sedation and can accumulate in liver impairment
