Homeostasis
Name of condition in which all of the body’s systems are balanced and are working at their best.
Dilate
Widening of blood vessels when outside temperature is too high
Constrict
Narrowing of blood vessels when the outside temperature is too cold/low
Atrophy
Occurs when the muscle wastes away, decrease in size and becomes weak
Contracture
Develops when the muscle or tendon shortens, becomes inflexible, and freezes in position
Clean
An object that has not been contaminated with pathogens
Biohazard
Something that can be hazardous to those come in contact with it
Sputum/phlegm
Fluid brought out from the throat (or lungs), body fluid
Bursitis
Inflammation of a bursa, typically one in the knee, elbow or shoulder. Bursa is the fluid filled sac that cushion the joints.
Phlebitis
Condition of inflammation of the veins, walls of the veins. Also, venitis.
Cellulitis
Inflammation of the dermis and subcutaneous tissues. A bacterial skin infection.

Inflammation of the brain or brain tissues.

Inflammation of the lining of the stomach and the intestines

Inflammation of the gallbladder
