CN II lesion
if one sided - often will lose half of visual field
CN III **
most important because it goes to most of the eye muscles and elevates the eye lid.
Presents with droopy eye lid
resting position if eye outward
pupil tends to be fixed dilated
CN IV
brings eye down and out. If lesion eye can still complete this motion with CN III and CN VI
CN VI lesion
eye medially deviated
CN VIII lesion
trouble with sitting up right because fxn: head position
CN X lesion
minimal overall effects
CN XI
easy to test bc innervates trapezius and SCM.
CN IX
pharynx - swallowing - look at the uvula. if a lesion is present it will deviate to the strong side
CN XII
when protruding tongue - deviate to the weak side (lesion side)
CN I lesion
loss of smell
