is considered to be the manifestation of spontaneity and individuality of a person, it is the part of the self that actively seeks identification to the things they acquire from their social interactions and experiences.

PREPARATORY STAGE (0-2), PLAY STAGE (2-6), GAME STAGE (6-9)

refers to distinctive characteristics that define an individual or are shared by those belonging to a particular group.

EGOCENTRIC AND SOCIOCENTRIC, THE IDENTITY TOOLBOX, RIGHT OF PASSAGE
describes self to be autonomous and is very clear on ones individuality
EGOCENTRIC
states that the self is dependent on the social setting (ex. Asians, Chinese, Japanese)
SOCIOCENTRIC
collection of the features and characteristics of a person that builds the foundation for ones identity; features that one chooses to emphasize in building a sense of self.

acquisition of identity or self through achievements cemented by activities or rituals.
