A

Every year, 2/3 of the fields were devoted to corn crops. 1/3 remained fallow so that the soil could recover it’s richness. There were commons and wastelands which provided hay for the villagers’ livestock.

Large class of freeholders (they owned the land they farmed) but the most farmers were smallholders who rented the land from the nobility and gentry. And there were also landless labourers who worked in large farms.

No, for example the naval dockyard in Thames and on the South coast employed only hundreds of people.

Because of exportation and and since they are surrounded by water, they depend on it to be powerful.

A

An age of craftsmanship, it depended on human strengh and skills. Most industries were centred around home, and family owned their own tools or simple hand-worked machines.

How was the situation of transports at this time ?

A

1) Lack of suitable transport facilities and proper roads; many roads were impassable in winter.
2) The road network basically catered for local needs. 3)Long distances were travelled by stagecoaches, but they were infrequent, uncomfortable
4) It was reflected in the heavy volume of river and coastal traffic for transporting bulky goods (coal, iron, timber, etc). London thus received coal by sea from Newcastle.

A

1) Lot of killing deseases
2) High infant mortality
3) The poor were the most affected because of lack of food and inadequate shelters
4) The wealthiest were still affected too because of lack of sanitation and medical knowledge.
