Types of Graphic Organizers

- Flow Chart
It is used to compare and contrast ideas. It is one of the most commonly-used GOs used to display comparison and contrasts of two (or more) sets of data, which in our case, take the form of concepts, theories, and facts.
Venn Diagram
Similarities of the two sets of data being scrutinized.
Compare
It is when we wish to point out the differences of the sets of data given to us,
Contrast
It describes how a series of events interact as a set of results repeatedly.
Cycle
It is a graphical tool that instructional designers, engineers, technical writers, and others use to organize and structure knowledge.
Concept Map
It is used to map events in the story and analyze major parts of the plot.
Plot Diagram
It is used to show chronology of events in a narrative or stages in a process.
Flow Chart
It is a group of information structured in an organized list.

Two Formatting Styles of Outline
Alphanumeric Format
Decimal Format
It is the default configuration of an outline.
It is generally used in descriptive texts (e.g. historical texts)
Alphanumeric Format
It displays direct hierarchy of one idea/fact to its parent/subordinate.
It is dominantly used in scientific texts.
Decimal Format
Levels of Alphanumeric Format
1st level: Roman numerals (I, II, III)
2nd level: Capital letters (A, B, C)
3rd level: Hindu-Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3)
4th level: lowercase letters (a, b, c)
5th level: lowercase Roman numeral (i, ii, iii)
6th level: parenthesized lowercase letters [(a), (b), (c)]
7th level: parenthesized Roman numerals [(i), (ii), (iii)]
