Edge Location
A
- the location where your content will be cached.
- is separate from an AWS Region
- can be read-only or read\write

Origin
A
- origin of all the files the CDN will distribute
- can be an S3 Bucket, and EC2 Instance, and Elastic Load Balancer or Route53
- objects are cached for the life of the TTL (Time To Live)
- if you manually clear cached objects, you will be charged

Distribution
A
- the name of the CDN which consists of a collection of Edge Locations

Two types of CDNs
A
- Web Distribution - typically used for websites
- RTMP - used for Adobe Flash media streaming, not used very much anymore
