Clotting Factors and Anticoagulants Flashcards
1
Q
List and describe the domains of FVIIa
A
- Gla domain: phospholipid binding
Defines vitamin K dependent proteins (FII, FVII, FIX, FX and PC, PS) which contain 9-11 γ–carboxyglutamic acid residues - 2x EGF-like domain: important for protein-protein binding
- Serine protease: contains catalytic triad Ser/ His/ Asp which which catalyses proteolysis of target substrate (FIX to FIXa and FX to FXa)
2
Q
Describe the structure of TFPI
A
- 3 Kunitz domains
3
Q
Describe the structure of TFPI
A
- 3 Kunitz domains
- Kunitz 2 must inhibit FXa first
- ## Kunitz 1 inhibits FVIIa
