don’t give if HTN, pregnant, peptic ulcers cerebral thrombosis / peripheral artery occlusion

Heparin / LMWH- moa

A

Heparin activates antithrombin 3 = limits clotting by inactivating thrombin/factor X. Inhibits platelet aggregation. LMWH = similar but can be given less frequently and dosing more predictable
