Clinical Milestones Flashcards
Adductor muscle strain: subacute phase
Injured side approx 75-80% of the uninjured side
Adductor muscle strain: acute phase
Concentric adduction against gravity
Adductor muscle strain: return to sport phase
Strength 90-100% of uninvolved side
Hip pointer: acute phase
Protection –> what can they do and still be pain free
Hip pointer: subacute phase
Restore full ROM and flexibility
Hip pointer: return to sport
Pain free strength
Rehab for muscle contusions
PRICE, initiation of AROM, initiation of pain free strengthening and return to function, strengthening occurs late phase rehab
Labral tears post op management: first 4-8 weeks
Probably NWB for first 4-8 weeks
OKC exercises
Stationary bike may be OK
Labral tears post op management: acute phase
Restore ROM: pain free exercises, isometrics for LE and core exercises
Labral tears post op management: repair and remodeling phase
Restore strength and ROM
Pain free progression: don’t forget balance
Return to ADL or sport activities
Bursitis treatment
Restore flexibility, strength and balance, may need to assess walking or running mechanics
Snapping hip treatment
Resource balance ROM, flexibility and strength
Dynamic assessment of walking or running gait
Hip surgeries for acute phase treatment
Get them functional so they can go home
Home care PT
Hip surgeries for repair and remodeling phases
Restore ROM, strength and functional abilities
Articular cartilage defect surgeries: first 6-8 weeks
Typically NWB
