They should be prescribed a high dose supplement which is usually 280,000-300,000iU over 6-10 weeks.
What should patients with vitamin D deficiency consider?
They should consider their calcium intake, esp. if it is <700mg per then diet should be adjusted to address this.
Why is it not suitable to dispense opioid maintenance therapy e.g. methadone to patients who miss 3+ days?
They become at risk of overdose due to loss of tolerance
How can you check for CKD?
Requesting urine albumin to creatinine ratio (ACR)
How should diabetics’ medicines be managed during sick days?
Metformin should be stopped due to increased risk of lactic acidosis
What is the max dose of simvastatin when given with amlodipine? Why?
20mg OD due to increased risk of myopathy
What is the max dose of citalopram in patients >65 years old? Why?
