What do you need to do when entering the climb?

Power - mcp (check), balance with right rudder.
Attitude - select & hold.

How do you maintain the climb?
Have MCP set.
Speed should be 120 KIAS, attitude will control climb speed.
Select, hold and trim the climb attitude.
L-A-I during.
How many feet should you anticipate to level off the climb?
100ft.
What is the KIAS climbing speed?
120KIAS.
How often should you conduct a lookout weave?
Every 2000ft.
When levelling off, what TQ setting should be selected?
32% TQ.
What is a ‘FEEL’ check and when should you conduct them?
Fuel, Engine, Electrics, Location.
When at the top of climb or every 10 minutes after.
What check must you do before descending back to base?
Fuel
Instruments
Radio
Engine & electrics
Altimeters (QFE)
Safety Altitude
Heating
What TQ and speed is used for a normal descent, at what angle of descent?
10% TQ and 160KIAS, -3.
What is the speed for glide descents?
105KIAS ‘clean’ and 95KIAS with flap.
What is the process for entering the glide descent?
Full lookout, (FIREASH if returning to base or a significant altitude decrease).
Initial weave.
10% TQ set and allow speed to bleed to 110KIAS to start descent.
Select and hold attitude and trim.
When levelling off, what process should you go through?
Lookout
Anticipate the levelling off altitude.
Set 32% TQ for level flight, attitude and trim.
What angle of bank is required for medium turns?
30.
What process should you follow when entering and conducting the turn?
Lookout to direction of turn, then to opposite side, back over to direction of turn.
Look ahead and turn to 30 angle of bank.
Increase power as required.
Lookout - attitude- instruments throughout.
What should you do when exiting the turn?
Anticipate by 10 degrees.
Set straight and level attitude for 120KIAS.
Power decrease as required (if an increase was needed in turn).
Lookout on down going wing.
