Climate Change 2 Flashcards
The greenhouse effect
The greenhouse effect is a natural process where greenhouse gases such as methane form an insulating layer in the atmosphere which causes the solar radiation to be reflected back to the earth the resourcing in a warming
Impacts of climate change
Is flooding of lowland areas of the Kent and Bangladesh, increase in global temperature
Energy sources
Energy is needed for everyday lives it comes from one of the two sources renewable energy and non-renewable energy
Meaning of Renewable energy
Energy source is naturally able to disappear within our lifetime
Examples of renewable energy
Wind ,solar ,tidal energy
Non-renewable energy meaning
Natural resource that cannot be replaced or or cannot biodegrade to produce this non-renewable product it requires high emission leading toa large amount of carbon footprint
Examples of non-renewable energy
Coal, oil, natural gases which are all (fossil fuels)
Mitigation ideas to reduce an impact
Banning fossil fuel cars ,renewable energy products for home solar panels
Adaptation strategies
Building large sea defences such as a barrier to prevent flooding, not building houses low lying ground
